The other evening, I went out to dinner and to see a play with my
brother and a few of his friends. While at dinner, one of the friends
answered the question of where was his significant other by saying that
"She was in Pennsylvania seeing a real play"
As if to say there are no real plays here in New Jersey
and in particular right here in Monmouth County
Well, I beg to differ with you, dear sir
So long as there are performers, directors, producers, stage managers,
crew members, screen writers, etc giving it all their heart and soul to
each performance and willing to trek back and forth to rehearsals,
I believe Monmouth County has REAL PLAYS
From the small intimate dessert theater playhouse of First Avenue Playhouse,
the darling 2 room library-inspired dessert theater of the
Navesink Arts Center of The Monmouth Players, to the
Phoenix Productions performances held on the Grand Stage
at Count Basie Theater and to the exceptional, mind blowing
productions at Two River Theater, Monmouth County not only has REAL PLAYS
Monmouth County has outstanding, exceptional, breathtaking productions
of the finest highest caliber.
I salute!!! you all and the other theater and playhouses, where one can
go see a REAL PLAY here in Monmouth County.
Be sure and visit BizEturtle's Arts Page for a list of all these marvelous places
